It’s easy to be so distracted that we fail to notice the beauty of God’s creation around us, let alone take time to care for it. What one simple thing could you do to help protect the environment?
Pray
Dear Lord, forgive me.
I crunch through what’s left of the autumn leaves
without any thought for the tree that dropped them,
the birds who nested among them, or the shade they once gave.
Please give me eyes to appreciate your work
in the beautiful world around me.
Give me hands that care for your creation
and a heart that doesn’t take it for granted.
Amen.

Pick up a leaf and examine it closely. Spend a few minutes imagining where it’s been and what gifts it provided.
