Reflect
Our world looks a lot like a plate of spaghetti—noodles tangled around each other, sauce splattered and smothered, making a mess, and parmesan sprinkled on top to cloud the vision. Jesus enters into this chaos willingly, and all he asks is for us to pay heed to John the Baptist: Repent and make straight the path.
Pray
God of all,
We praise your most holy name.
We glorify you,
most loving, most merciful.
We recognize that the best way to begin repentance is to praise you,
to realize that we have hurt the heart of God.
Because of your immense love and mercy,
You embrace us in our “sorry.”
You replace our darkness with light,
the light of your only Son.
Thank you for the message of John the Baptist
to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Messiah.
Amen.
Act
Where do you need God’s embrace? What will you repent from so that you can turn your heart fully to Christ?

This was one of my favorites Natalie Ryan! It started off kind of humorous, then poignant and finally moved us to hope and grace. Wonderfully written. Thank you.
