Reflect
The prophet Ezekiel is commanded by God to prophesy and command dry bones to come back to life (Ezekiel 37:1-14). It’s a compelling image to reflect on: Ezekiel praying over a valley of dry bones with the words God gives him, watching them come back together into the created beings that God had designed. The same voice that commanded Ezekiel to prophesy life into these dry bones compels our own bones to rise out of our shame into the light of God.
Pray
God of life, who brought back dry bones in a desert valley,
speak to my bones today—to my flesh, to my heart.
May I know of life, life to the fullest,
by simply listening to your voice today.
God of Ezekiel, may you prophesy over my dry bones
and bring me into your light.
