Pause+Pray

So often we are kind to others, yet we do not extend that same kindness to ourselves. We should see ourselves with the same loving eyes as our Creator does.

Can you have joy in a difficult time? Can you experience wonder and beauty, and rejoice in a time of pandemic? For St. Paul, joy is trusting that in all things God is your companion.

Peace in the world comes about when we seek and work for the justice of our neighbor and the world. The two go hand in hand.

Today we will celebrate Christ’s resurrection, as rightly we should. But the cleansing effect of our Lenten sacrifices can stay with us for however long we choose to remember them.

During Lent, as we witness the fullness of Jesus’ story, we see over and over again that we have a God who fully understands the range of our human emotions. 

Francis of Assisi was born into privilege and gave it up to embrace simplicity and poverty. Could you do the same?
