When we love, others’ lives become as important as our own. We balance our self-interest with affirming their deepest needs. We discover that the sacrifices we make are more than compensated by a sense of loving connection, open-heartedness, and the recognition that we are bringing joy and beauty to another person and to the world.

Loving God, I thank you for the love I received
and the opportunity to love today.
I thank you for those who sacrificed for my well-being,
and I commit myself to sacrifice for the well-being of others.
Let my focus go from self-interest to care for others:
my community and world loyalty.

Today I will let my love flow to others in acts of kindness and sacrifice. I will tangibly and concretely love others as I love myself.
