Good Mourning

young woman grieving

Reflect

Losing a loved one brings with it a hurt that registers to our very souls. It’s OK to grieve that loss—even if it takes a dozen years and a thousand tears. But your loved ones are closer to you than you think.

Pray

God of infinite grace,
My heart is heavy
with grief
over the death of someone I love.
But I know that above the storm clouds
is the sun—
warm and embracing.
Though my eyes are filled with tears
I will look to the skies to find the light.
Because I know in that vast expanse
you watch over me.
Grant that I may
not stumble on this journey of grief,
but that I find peace in knowing where
the journey ends.
Amen.
