Reflect
When Jesus asked a crowd to share with their neighbors, no one came forth except a boy with five loaves and two fish. From that meager portion, Jesus fed a multitude. Jesus asks us, “Will you share with your neighbor?” From your small gift, bodies, minds, and spirits will be nourished.
Pray
God of Heaven and Earth,
Field and forest,
Bountiful harvest of earth, sky, and sea.
Give me a generous spirit.
Open my heart to my neighbor’s need.
Multiply my small gifts to feed
Those around me.
Amen.
Act
After reflecting on a need in your neighborhood, prayerfully respond in terms of ways to each out to bring joy and sustenance to others. Your response may involve food, money, or volunteer work.
