christmas eve: a holy pause; a hand lighting a candle with a match

Reflect

Before the angels sing, before the shepherds kneel, there is silence. Christmas Eve invites us to stop and breathe in the holy stillness. The world changed not with trumpet blasts but with a baby’s cry. This night whispers what noise can’t say: God is near. Even if your heart feels weary or your life feels chaotic, Christ still comes.

Pray

Jesus, quiet my heart tonight. Let the weight of wonder sink in. You chose to enter the world as a child, wrapped in love and vulnerability. Help me welcome you with the same tenderness. Stay close as I make room for you once again.

Act

Light a candle tonight and sit in silence for a few minutes. Let that small light remind you of the Light entering the world.
