All of us want to look good, but St. Francis shows us a way beyond surety, “bearing patiently not being good and not being thought good.”
Pray
God of forgiveness,
St. Francis tells us not to be upset
because of others’ sins or mistakes.
Help us to get over those too.

Act
Pray outdoors today—as Francis might have done—delighting in creation as God’s temple, doorway to the divine. Then do some small thing to improve the environment, even if it’s simply picking up trash, turning down the thermostat, or not using a car.
