Sharing the Word for May 4, 2022

Wednesday of the Third Week of Easter

May 4, 2022
Daily Reading from the USCCB: John 6:35-40

Jesus has told the crowd that he is the bread of life. Now he begins to explain what that means.

First, it is his teaching that brings life to the hearer. “Whoever believes in me,” he says, “and looks for me and comes to me, he is the one who will have eternal life. He is the one who will be raised up on the last day. It’s my word and my teaching that constitute the bread of life–the source of eternal well-being in the company of the Father.”

Jesus offers us the bread of life, also. If we accept his teaching and respond to him in faith we will be joined in life to him and to the Father forever.
