Sharing the Word for June 18, 2022

Saturday of the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time

June 18, 2022
Daily Reading from the USCCB: Matthew 6:24-34

We’ve already heard the message in these beautiful verses: Jesus’ followers are called to be like God–to reflect God’s values.

Jesus is again teaching us what is important. When he tells us not to be concerned about what we are to eat and drink, he doesn’t mean that we’re to lie back and let ourselves be taken care of. No, he’s telling us that we have to be very clear about what is primary in our lives and what is secondary. We are to have confidence that the Lord will take care of us simply because he loves us and because we are his. To worry implies believing that God is too busy to bother with us.

Do I worry? Why?
