Forgiveness is an important part of spiritual health, but appropriate boundaries can be equally as important when the offense was significant. Here is a prayer for discerning what to do after forgiving someone who deeply hurt you.
O Great Reconciler,
I have chosen to forgive the person
who hurt me so that I may be free from bitterness.
Now light my way and show me how to move forward
in freedom and love
without permitting the continuation of any form of abuse.
Give me clarity and peace to discern
what healthy forgiveness looks like in this particular moment.
