Have you ever asked yourself why something difficult is happening to you or to a friend, or why so many tragedies occur in our world? Our call as disciples is to rise up in the light of the Lord as we encounter the darkness that exists in everyday life.
Pray
Lord,
Help me today to rise up,
despite the negativity and deceit in the world.
May my rising be like sun’s:
Bright, steady, and reliable.
I desire to be your light and to bring a message of hope.
I know that in the end,
you are greater and already have the victory.

Act
What is one way that you can light up someone’s day today? Consider your gifts, such as having a sense of humor or being a good listener. Choose to be that light.
