Accepting Your Acceptance

Reflect

In our tendency to define ourselves by our performance or judge ourselves for our mistakes, accepting our own acceptance is a radical act. God loves us as we are, not as we should be, but this love moves us to contemplation and action. When we partake in the Eucharist, we humbly receive God’s love and acceptance and are moved to further awaken to our union with Christ. Into what spaces of your life is God’s love flowing?

Pray

I hold out my hands to receive you, my Amen an affirmation
of the love you gave and continue to give
through the Christ
who never stops
flowing outward into our innermost spaces
if only we are humble and willing to receive.

Act

Throughout your day, whenever you find that you are being hard on yourself or failing to accept your own acceptance, take a moment to pause, slow your breathing, close your eyes, cup your hands, and hold them out as if to receive the Eucharist.
