Consoling Mother

mother and child looking at labyrinth

I once found myself stuck in the middle of a labyrinth, feeling trapped in failed perfectionism. I realized that no matter how hard I tried, I could never earn God’s love. Mary needed to help me receive the mercy of the Father. My hands, wet from tears, were clasped together. There was a silent pause. Miraculously, my left pinky began caressing the back of my right hand.

This new soft gesture was Mary consoling me, letting me know that she was standing beside me on my behalf while presenting my prayers to the High King in the cosmic realm. She used my own hands to express her presence. She uses our hands to help others.
