God offers us salvation in Jesus. We can’t earn it, but we can accept it from the generosity of the Father and the risen Christ.
The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of the apostles’ message, the keystone of the Christian faith, then and now.
As the Christian community reflected on today’s passage from Isaiah, it became clear that the figure being presented was Jesus, the servant of God.
The Eucharist imprints religious identity on those who share in it, as participation in the exodus conferred religious identity on the people who followed Moses out of Egypt.
The servant of the song represents Jesus, but because we are in Jesus, the song is also about us. We too, serve as instruments of God’s salvation.
During these last days of Lent the Church offers us Isaiah’s Servant Songs as meditations on the person and mission of Jesus.
