Clare’s love song came out of her own sufferings.
Prayer cannot be judged on the basis of “highs” or “feel-good” experiences.
To know God is to know the human person since the mystery of God is the human person.
Clare’s bereavement could hardly be equaled since for her, as for her sisters, Francis was “after God, her only consolation.”
