Sharing the Word for October 23, 2020

Friday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time

October 23, 2020

Daily Reading from the USCCB: Luke 12:54-59

The kingdom is approaching. It’s up to us to interpret the signs of its coming. A skilled farmer interprets the signs of the weather. A person involved in a lawsuit will try to discern how he can bring his case to resolution. A person who is spiritually alert will know what signs to read to prepare himself for what the Lord has in store.

The signs of God’s plans are neither few nor hidden. We have the presence of Jesus in our midst. We have God’s word in Sacred Scripture. We have the action of Our Lord in the sacraments. We have strength and encouragement from our fellow believers in the people of God.

Where do I look for signs of God’s plans for me?
