With the health crisis and unrest facing our world, finding a reason to be joyful may be hard. But it’s important that we smile—even if it’s through tears.
On the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart we especially commemorate Jesus’ loving gift of himself in his death on the cross. To love the Lord Jesus is to be filled with the riches of God.
Clinging to something that does not bring us life means clinging to our sure death.
News commentators often respond to questions with “Absolutely,” when the topic is actually riddled with doubts and seems far from certain.
Love for our neighbor is practically as important as our worship of God, since on occasion our neighbor’s needs are more important than observing the rules of worship.
This week’s Gospel reminds us that great things can come from the smallest of beginnings.
When we are tempted to despair at the oppression or violence in our world we must remember that the Kingdom’s truth will prevail, and the love of God has overcome all in Jesus Christ.
The purpose of the law and the prophets was to foster and deepen our relationship with God. Jesus has not come to abolish the law, but to clarify and to enrich it.
In our loud and busy world, contemplative prayer offers a wonderful respite.
