For decades, the saints have provided me with prayer tips that I still use today. May they deepen your own prayer journey.

Hold a space in your heart for the world. We’re all ancestors of future generations who hope we’ll build the fire that can be seen in the distance.

Sometimes we overcomplicate things and slip out of an awareness of our inherent union with God and abiding in the Trinity. Maybe the tension is where the wheat in your life is growing among the weeds.

St. Francis looked around at the church and he began to repair the building, stone by stone. Pope Francis understands this metaphor.

In the narrative of the nobleman and his long journey, Jesus implies that the kingdom may still be far off. But in the meantime the servants have work to do, tending to the master’s business till he returns.

Time speeds by, one event falling into another. I see this now.

Our faith reminds us that we all make up the body of Christ. Therefore, we are all neighbors, even if that idea makes us uncomfortable.

In his outreach to Zacchaeus Jesus is also inviting us to reach out to him. Our care for those in need and our desire for justice constitute an effort to see Jesus, like Zacchaeus climbing the sycamore tree.

At Franciscan Media, we see unmistakable evidence of the ongoing popularity of the Catholic saints.
