Reflect
There is so much clutter, distraction, and noise in the world today. Silence seems to have become a rare commodity. Yet silence can be a profound spiritual experience. It was Elijah who heard God’s voice not in storm or fire but in a whisper. To hear that whisper we have to learn the power of silence.

Lord, you knew the power and value of silence.
You would often try to go off by yourself.
You knew that silence was a powerful doorway
to hear your Father’s voice.
Help me find ways to quiet myself and my life
so that I may more clearly celebrate the kingdom within.
