Reflect
“I am continuing my conversation with the Lord.”—St. Louis Martin
Often on the way home from Mass at Cathedral St. Pierre in Lisieux, Papa—the father of St. Thérèse of Lisieux—was rather quiet. While his daughters might be chatting away, he remained silent. If urged to speak, St. Louis Martin would explain that he was continuing his conversation with the Lord.
Pray
St. Louis Martin, father of the Little Flower,
You knew how to connect with the Lord.
Please pray that I too may continue my conversations with the Lord following Mass;
to not let the holiness of Mass fade away
by the time I reach my friends in the front yard of the church
and begin chatting away.
Pray that my God-centered thoughts linger just a little longer!
Act
Instead of dashing out of church this Sunday, try lingering a bit in the church or at a prayer garden on the church grounds. Let the beauty of Mass seep into your soul a few more moments—try to continue your conversation with God before jumping into your day’s activities.
