Do You Ever Get Bored?

Reflect

We live in a world of constant stimulation. The endless barrage from the 24-hour news cycle, social media posts, streaming programs and so forth, seek to keep our eyes glued at all times. Yet we still get bored. This prayer is for those moments.

Pray

God, you are the author of all beauty and majesty.
Your words fashioned the earth and brought life to the word.
Yet on the seventh day you rested.
May I rest in you in my moments of restlessness.
May my moments of boredom be a reminder to seek you above all else.
Amen.

Act

Chose a time today when you normally seek entertainment.  Sit Instead in the restlessness and bored feeling. Offer that uncomfortable silence as a prayer, mindful of God’s presence: the true comfort of your heart.

  1. Although Jesus was in the form of God he came in the form of man; He said He was the Bread come down from Heaven; we should therefore also believe He comes in the form of Bread in the Mass because He told us to.
