Reflect
Psalm 148—like Francis of Assisi’s “Canticle”—describes a world of praise. To the psalmist, everything from frost and hail to political leaders praises God. The psalms end with, “Let everything that breathes, praise God! Praise God!” You are a member in God’s chorus of praise. Let your voice join the anthem of creation.
Pray
Let my life give you praise, joyful creator.
Let my words, acts, and commitments bring joy to the world.
Let me experience praise everywhere, and let me bring praise to every situation.
Delighting in the wonder of your loving artistry,
let me be a poet of creation and bard of the spirit,
bringing delight to your glorious world.
Amen.
