Pray Always!

Every facet of Jesus’s life reveals the mystery of the divine. His words and gestures, his interactions with others—relaxing with friends, eating in people’s homes, traveling from place to place, praying with the community in the synagogue—gives praise and glory to the Father. Like Jesus, every facet of our lives should do the same. Through the Spirit given us, changing diapers, grocery shopping, sitting through boring meetings, shopping at Walmart, polishing brass, pulling weeds, driving to work, indeed, every human activity becomes a means of praising God. As St. Paul encourages us, we can pray without ceasing by the manner in which we live our lives. However, in order to do so, we, like Jesus, must set aside substantive time each day to speak with and listen to the Lord.

  1. Lord Jesus Christ, fill us with your Holy Spirit that we may serve you joyfully and serve our neighbors willingly with a generous heart, not looking for how much we can get, but rather looking for how much we can give. Amen.
