One of my favorite Advent hymns gives this reflection its title. There’s something wonderful about including the cosmos in our Christmas celebrations.

Often we hear the phrase “Christmas is for children” and while it may seem like a cliché, it really is true.

Have you ever been surrounded by a whirlwind of activity, perhaps in the midst of family and friends, and felt a sudden whoosh of deep contentment?

Transitions are tender seasons, not unlike the nine months when a woman gestates a seed prior to the birth of a child.

Pregnancy might be the best image for the season of Advent. It is a time of active waiting like no other.

If this were your last day, hour, minute, or breath, imagine how you might drink in the daylight, taste the twilight, touch the stars, smell the sunshine, delight at songbirds, listen to the look of your loved ones.
