God already knows the desires of our hearts, but he wants us to ask. Our loved ones know that we love them, but it feels good to hear and to say. God enjoys our heart-to-heart conversations with him too.

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux is perhaps one of the most known and best loved saints in the Catholic calendar. A young Carmelite nun who wanted to go to the missions, she remained within the cloister yet became the patron of the missions.

One of the graces each of us has is being an “instrument of peace” that God can use for the sake of others. Indeed, we are the hands of God in touching the lives of others.

The lives of three women with a shared desire to provide healing and protection to neglected animals intertwine at the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary.

Though he probably didn’t write it, the Peace Prayer attributed to St. Francis captures much of his spirit. He spent time and energy being an “instrument of peace.”

Depression and anxiety is not a reality one can just pray away. It’s important to know that we can always seek medical, therapeutic, and spiritual help. God wants us to know he makes space for our pain.

Known mostly for his translation of the Scriptures into Latin, Saint Jerome was also an inspiring writer of letters and commentaries. He was said to have had a bad temper, yet he was a man of prayer and penance. A combination of conflicting qualities, Saint Jerome stands out as one of the four great Doctors of the Latin Church.

Many people today reject Jesus. They’re not interested in what he has to offer. They look on faith and religion as a kind of hobby–appropriate for those who like that sort of thing, irrelevant to those who don’t.

In suffering Francis felt especially close to Jesus. Not that he wanted to punish himself or that he took delight in pain, but in illness he saw a weakness that was strength.
