Reflect
In an ordinary home, there are always more tasks to do: more laundry to fold, items to put away, mail to respond to, and dust to clean up. Consider how each uncompleted task is an indicator that your life is abundant and full. Each task undone is a chance to say thank you for goodness in your life.
Pray
God of abundance,
Thank you for the fullness of life.
As I think about the tasks undone and take in the indicators that my life is busy,
may I recognize the blessings in the midst of the pressures and labor.
Help me to say thank you for the laundry in need of washing,
for this means I have plenty of clothing.
Help me to say thank you for the bills to be paid,
for this means I already received some of what I need.
Help me to notice the signs of goodness and life
that are revealed in the ordinariness of work to do.
Amen.
Act
Select one chore that you hope to do today, and try to do it with a spirit of gratitude, considering what that task says about the fullness in your life.
