It’s a mistake to put St. Peter on a pedestal when we can learn more from the bumbling oaf he really was. But if he could make it to heaven, there’s hope for us.

Thank you, God, for teaching us through Peter
that holiness doesn’t mean perfection.
Help me to be as honest about my flaws
as he was about his.
